A Look at DeSantis’ IT Budget Proposals for the Department of Revenue

A few notable recommendations include $31.5 million to transition its child support automated management system to SAP S/4 and $3.8 million for an electronic file and pay system.

The Florida Department of Revenue, which oversees child support and tax administration for the state, would receive millions of dollars for new systems, software and other IT efforts under Gov. Ron DeSantis’ budget recommendations for Fiscal Year 2025-26.

Most of the department’s IT recommendations fall under child support enforcement.

The largest budget recommendation under this category is $31.5 million to transition its child support automated management system to SAP S/4, an enterprise resource planning software.

Other notable budget recommendations for the department include:
  • $3.8 million for an electronic file and pay system 
  • $967,200 for a SunTax transition to SAP S/4 
  • $948,610 to replace an existing IT platform 
  • $729,138 for software increases 
  • $595,989 for a cloud services increase
