The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking information from vendors on cataloging, triaging and remediating pre-existing FWC-owned electronically communicated information (ECI) to comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

According to the request for information (RFI), FWC needs to update its website and apps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, which requires web content and mobile apps to be accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Steps for the project are as follows:
  • Identify and catalog about 10 types of document repositories for FWC-owned ECI
  • Provide training on Adobe PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Excel document accessibility
  • Catalog all FWC-owned websites and content platforms, including SharePoint and MyFWC.com
  • Review about 5 million electronic documents, prioritizing approximately 4,000 non-compliant documents on MyFWC.com
  • Remediate non-compliant documents to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and archive documents and ensure the cataloging system is maintained securely due to personally identifiable information
The last day to submit questions about RFI FWC 24/25-30 is 5 p.m. Oct. 16. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 30. The point of contact for this RFI is Ruth Heggen.
