FLVS Issues RFP for Data Backup and Recovery Services

Florida Virtual School is seeking vendor proposals for data backup and recovery services of 35 terabytes of data with a one-year retention period for all online K-12 school systems.

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for data backup and recovery services.

Founded in 1997, FLVS is a statewide, fully accredited public school district offering online courses to students in grades K-12.

According to the RFP, FLVS seeks to back up all data and the ability to run recovery tests as needed. Currently, FLVS backs up about 35 terabytes of data for a one-year retention period.

The respondent would be “responsible for providing an appropriate work environment, including high-speed Internet connectivity to appointed staff for the duration of this project,” the RFP states.

Other functional specifications and minimum requirements include:
  • Integrating with DevOps tools such as Ansible and Jenkins 
  • Providing PowerShell modules for backup and restore operations and reporting and logging information 
  • Providing workflow automation and orchestration capabilities 
  • Backing up and restoring SQL agent jobs, logins, instance-wide roles and sp_configure settings 
  • Backing up and restoring Azure dedicated SQL pool databases to share on-premise
