Shashi Persaud, the office’s CIO, confirmed Greene’s appointment earlier this week via LinkedIn, stating, “The new role of chief information security officer has been created to oversee and manage our IT security professionals, as well as to be proactive to emerging threats.”

“My cohort Robert Greene has been given the honor of being the very first one to fill the new shoes at the agency,” Persaud wrote.

Greene joined the sheriff’s office as an assistant chief information officer in January 2024, helping oversee all IT operations and the office’s long-term strategic plans.

Before joining the county, Greene held various private-sector IT roles, including associate vice president of IT for Aspire Health Partners, director of client services for Tech Hero, IT specialist for Virtual TechSupport Team LLC, and lead computer repair specialist and assistant manager for Computer Renaissance.

Greene holds a Bachelor of Science in IT from the University of Central Florida.
