Orange County Utilities Recruiting for SCADA Administrator

The chosen candidate would oversee the operation, performance and maintenance of the county’s supervisory control and data acquisition telemetry system.

Orange County Utilities, which provides residents with water, wastewater, reclaimed water and solid waste services, is seeking an administrator to oversee the operation, performance and maintenance of the county’s supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) telemetry system.

The job posting on the county’s LinkedIn page states, “This position requires a data-driven individual who is committed to maintaining the operational excellence of Orange County’s critical wastewater infrastructure.”

Specific responsibilities for the role include:

  • Implementing innovative solutions to monitor and control remote wastewater pumping facilities 
  • Leading hardware and software maintenance, troubleshooting issues and supporting technical training for staff 
  • Overseeing the administration and security of the SCADA telemetry system 
  • Incorporating other telemetry devices, such as Ayyeka 
  • Replacing computer hardware, backing up databases and troubleshooting and repairing data acquisition equipment 

Minimum qualifications for the job include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in management information systems, computer science, engineering, or another related field, plus three years of experience installing software, data analysis, and maintaining and troubleshooting hardware for telemetry systems.

The hiring salary for the role is $31.80 to $50.89 per hour, and the recruitment deadline is May 9.
