Two state agencies are recruiting for data architect and senior database analyst roles.

The Florida Digital Service is seeking a data architect to help structure the agency’s strategic framework for data processing and analytics across the state enterprise.

“This role involves designing and implementing efficient, secure data solutions that support enterprise objectives,” the job posting reads. “The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data governance and interoperability, an understanding of modern database technologies and the ability to translate business needs into robust data strategies.”

Key responsibilities for the role include:
  • Coordinating with the Office of the State Chief Data Officer on all data architecture initiatives 
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive strategy for the state’s enterprise data architecture to align with the business goals and objectives of the enterprise and agencies 
  • Understanding agency database solutions and models to maintain enterprise capabilities 
  • Ensuring database implementation procedures comply with internal and external regulations 
  • Working with enterprise data teams and coordinating information systems to guarantee enterprise functionality

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is seeking a senior Oracle database analyst to lead its new Couchbase database and UNIX and Linux systems.

As a senior database analyst, the chosen candidate “will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of all database instances and objects on multiple platform environments, including the release process for system and schema changes,” the job posting states.

Additional duties include performing database query analysis, performance and optimization, coordinating stored procedures and maintaining an appropriate database access layer.

The senior database analyst will report to the agency’s SQL services database administrator. The duty statement provides more details about the position. The role has a yearly salary range of $72,000 to $80,000, and the application deadline is June 14.
