Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority Shares Tentative Procurement Plan

The authority’s tentative procurement plan for fiscal year 2025 includes several requests for proposals, invitations to bid and requests for quotations related to IT, cybersecurity and tech.

The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) may soon be issuing various tech procurements for fiscal year 2025.

THEA is an independent state agency that owns, maintains and operates four facilities in Hillsborough County: the Selmon Expressway, the Brandon Parkway, Meridian Avenue and the Selmon Greenway.

According to THEA’s tentative procurement plan, the authority plans to issue seven solicitations over the next several months.

For example, between January and March 25, THEA anticipates issuing a combined request for proposals for ITS monitoring, security operations center software and ITS security of field devices.

Other tentative solicitations the authority anticipates publishing soon include:
  • Two requests for proposals during April and June 25 for an incident management contractor and incident management software  
  • A request for quotations between July and Sept. 24 for a cybersecurity auditor   
  • A request for proposals, a request for quotations and an invitation to bid between October and Dec. 24 for a roadside toll collection system, enterprise resource planning and an enterprise management system, and uninterruptable power supply in intelligent transportation system cabinets
