Abilene has published a request for proposals (RFP) for a learning management system (LMS) that will deliver and track professional development training for 16 departments.

Human resources will use the LMS, which should integrate with the city’s Ceridian Dayforce HR management system. The initial contract would be for three years with potential one-year extensions.

The contract will include:
  • Surveying stakeholders to determine training needs
  • Providing a scope of needs based on department
  • Planning for implementation, administering training and system testing
  • Implementing and integrating the system
  • Providing end-user training and support

The city lists specifications under these headings:
  • LMS technical
  • Reporting and documentation
  • Content management
  • Content/curriculum

The HR department will select the vendor for the project; however, the RFP’s point of contact is the purchasing division. The deadline for submission is 3 p.m. March 31, and the award is expected by June 30.

Full details are available on the city’s website.
