Austin-Based IT Auditor Joins Texas Workforce Commission

After several years of working in the private sector, he brings years of IT audit and risk management experience to the commission.

A certified information system auditor based out of Austin has accepted a position with the state agency that oversees unemployment benefits and services.

His past industry experience includes being an IT auditor for DISH Network and an information technology auditor for G4S, a British multinational private security company headquartered in London.

During his time with DISH Network, Olatunde-Brown held various responsibilities, according to his LinkedIn profile, including:

  • Executing tests of IT general controls and application controls to assist management with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Designing and executing the company’s IT SOX audit, focusing on testing IT General controls, automated controls, segregation of duties and key reports.
  • Performing IT audits and determining whether controls are adequately designed to mitigate business/IT risk.
  • Performing controls testing, documenting results and providing detailed updates to the internal audit-SOX manager.
  • Coordinating work assignments with process/control owners and external auditors.

He holds an accounting degree from the University of Lagos, a cybersecurity and information assurance degree from Western Governors University and a CPA license from Houston Community College.
