The city of Austin is looking to hire an IT corporate manager to oversee the delivery and upkeep of the city’s enterprise network systems and data centers.

The role falls under the city’s communication and technology management department, which aims to provide sustained, reliable, efficient technology services, infrastructure, and telecommunication capabilities citywide.

Preferred experience for the position includes:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in developing, maintaining and supporting local, wide and metropolitan area networks and telephony systems.
  • Experience supporting modern enterprise data center networking concepts, including SD-WAN (software-defined networking technology to wide area network connections), leaf-spine, hybrid cloud, etc.
  • Understanding the city’s budget processes.
  • Understanding the city’s ordinances, administrative rules, and regulations affecting department operations and personnel matters.
  • Skill in conducting hardware and software evaluations and performing selection and acquisition functions.
  • Skill in enterprise vendor management and development of collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to develop, implement and administer a budget, prepare budget requests and monitor expenditures for budgetary compliance.

The position has an hourly salary range of $47.51 to $61.76, and the application deadline is March 27.
