The city of Austin is looking to hire an information technology manager for the digital workplace.

Job responsibilities associated with the role include “driving strategy, business performance and running processes that span departmental boundaries with exceptional skills in building and delivering digital solutions.”

Other duties include leading efforts for “rapid application development, democratizing application development using low-code platforms, preparing the city’s operational budget, reviewing ongoing expenditures and coordinating resources,” according to the job posting.

Desirable qualifications for the position include:

  • Knowledge of current IT systems and data systems technology, security, operations and practices.
  • Knowledge of budget processes.
  • Knowledge of project and resource management.
  • Skill in conducting hardware and software evaluations and performing selection and acquisition functions.
  • Skill in analyzing and solving complex problems for the enterprise department.
  • Ability to prepare budget requests and monitor expenditures for budgetary compliance.
  • Ability to compile data and prepare narrative and statistical correspondence, reports and presentations.
  • Ability to understand complex program structures and how they impact enterprise departments and the city.

The position has an hourly salary range of $44.40 – $57.72, and the application deadline is March 11.
