Joe Haubner recently joined Cloudflare as a SLED account executive, hoping to use his skills as an effective communicator to break down technical concepts.

“My role involves building and maintaining relationships with public-sector organizations across the state and local government, as well as educational institutions,” Haubner told Industry Insider — Texas via email.

“I work closely with these entities to understand their unique challenges and needs, and then I collaborate with our technical team to design and propose solutions that align with those needs,” he said. “This often involves educating clients on the importance of cybersecurity and performance, and how Cloudflare’s suite of products can help them achieve their goals efficiently and securely.”

Haubner took the Austin-based role in July and has been in public-sector sales since 2020. Previously, he was with Rubrik Inc., and started in sales in San Francisco.

He said he believes he “can bridge the gap between the technical and administrative sides of … organizations” and help “ensure that the solutions we propose align with [their] strategic objectives.”

Cloudflare “is a global network designed to make everything you connect to the Internet secure, private, fast and reliable,” according to its website. The company provides threat protection, identity management and multiple platforms and services in the cybersecurity space.

“We are excited to bring Joe onto the SLED Cloudflare team as we expand our presence in Austin,” said Will Payne, U.S. head of sales for the company. “We look forward to the immediate impact he'll have with our partners and customers in Texas.”

Haubner completed a University of Texas at Austin cybersecurity boot camp last year and holds a business degree from San Francisco State University.
