The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) is seeking vendors to help its 13 member counties pursue and use grant, foundation and private capital to bring broadband to unserved and underserved rural areas.

To do so, the AACOG wants to hear from vendors and contractors that will “provide technical assistance with broadband infrastructure” and provide grant writing.

Vendors must:
  • Have expertise in local, state and federal broadband laws and regulations
  • Provide guidance for broadband project proposals
  • Draft or provide sample documentation
  • Develop proposals, timelines and cost estimates

Vendors must have high-level knowledge of:
  • Above- and below-ground networks
  • Network design and cost
  • Network engineering, construction and connection points
  • Environmental questionnaires
  • Budgets, milestones and timelines
  • Grant writing, project development and presenting proposals

Applicable projects include building high-speed broadband infrastructure. The contract for grant assistance and related technical assistance will run from June 1 until May 31, 2026. The selected vendor will be paid out of administrative fees allowed via resulting grants and funds.

Responses to the request for proposals titled “AACOG Broadband Project,” No. RFP-24-041-RS-BRDBND, are due at 4 p.m. May 3.

Questions, due at 4 p.m. April 15, may be addressed via email to Debbie Ugarte.
