Department of Insurance Hiring Senior Systems Administrator

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is seeking an experienced systems administrator who has worked with Microsoft Office 365 or Azure Cloud.

TDI regulates multiple aspects of the Texas insurance market, which is the second-largest U.S. market and sixth largest in the world, according to its strategic plan. The agency plans to grow its technical workforce.

The qualified candidate will work cooperatively, exhibit discretion, train technical staff and work with various stakeholders. This work requires a critical thinker to guide complex projects.

The administrator will oversee, develop or manage:
  • Processes, procedures, policies and goals, including those related to security
  • The life cycle of server applications in a Microsoft environment
  • Identity and privilege management
Preferred qualifications include:
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Microsoft Azure/M365 certification
  • Eight years' system administration experience
  • Leadership or management experience
  • Experience with a wide range of software products and applications
Required knowledge and practice includes:
  • System administration in physical and virtual environments
  • Hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting
  • Automated and nonautomated design
  • Networking principles
  • Microsoft Windows Service, Active Directory and group policy management
This System Administrator V position has a base pay of $8,166.66 per month and potential hybrid work. The job posting doesn’t list a closing date.
