The Department of Information Resources (DIR) is planning to release a competitive request for offers (RFO) for geographic information systems and digital land survey products and services on March 19.

Pre-solicitation notice No. Pre-DIR-CPO-TMP-596 lists almost two dozen types of hardware, software and services alongside drones, maps and equipment that will be solicited as part of DIR’s cooperative contract programming.

DIR contract vehicles allow state agencies, municipalities, educational entities and nonprofits to purchase software and services. DIR vets contracted vendors for accessibility and cybersecurity, while garnering discounts for the state.

DIR publishes opportunities at the Texas SmartBuy website under member number 313. The contact person is Pete Casals.

Pre-solicitation notices are for planning purposes and don’t ensure procurements.
