DIR Recruiting for Vendor Management Director

The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) is looking to fill a director-level position to oversee all shared technology services vendors working with the agency.

On DIR’s website, the position is titled “Director I (Shared Technology Services (STS) Vendor Manager).” The role falls under the Chief Operations Office and STS vendor management program, which leverages a multi-sourcing services integrator to provide a single service delivery model for all customers and vendors that work with DIR.

Resources offered to customers and vendors through the program include data center, managed security services and an open data portal.

As for the job itself, preferred experience includes:

  • Managing STS vendors to achieve vendor performance and contract compliance, customer satisfaction and quality service delivery
  • Designing and creating solutions for STS contracts, deliverables and operations service delivery
  • Contributing to and implementing new business solutions for customers, including new types of services, technologies, financial models and customers
  • Providing operational content as subject matter experts for developing requests for proposals and helping direct cross-functional teams through the procurement process
  • Participating in and leading agency strategic and tactical initiatives as needed
  • Participating in STS governance by serving on solution groups, presenting issues to governance groups and soliciting customer feedback on DIR initiatives
  • Producing vendor performance reviews twice annually
  • Performing other vendor management duties as assigned

The position has a monthly salary range of $8,500 to $9,600, and the application deadline is May 10.
