General Land Office Looking for High-Level IT Pros

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is looking to fill two senior positions that have earning potential of more than $100,000 per year.

GLO is tasked with managing state lands, operating the Alamo, managing the Permanent School Fund, providing Texas veteran benefits, helping residents recover from natural disasters and managing the state’s coastlines.

The agency is looking for a senior director of application services (Director V) within IT Services who will also serve as the data management officer and help develop strategic planning. The salary range is $13,500-$14,500 per month.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the application services teams
  • Developing and overseeing data practices
  • Collaborating on agency strategic planning
  • Overseeing reporting requirements, budget requests and compliance activities
  • Developing statements of work and requirements for contracted services

The preferred candidate will be a degreed IT professional, have eight years in IT leadership, be experienced in an enterprise environment, have coaching and mentoring skills, have workflow management skills and understand the agency’s business priorities and operations, among other prerequisites.

The agency is also looking for a senior Salesforce developer (Programmer V) who has certification and 10 years of IT experience. The salary range is $9,300-$10,300 per month.

Responsibilities include:
  • Performing high-level coding in multiple programming languages
  • Overseeing complex programming projects
  • Understanding internal business needs
  • Performing research, analysis and evaluation
  • Managing, reviewing and producing documentation

The preferred candidate will be a degreed IT professional, have six years working with Salesforce and be familiar with agile delivery methods, among various requirements.
