Harris County Names Chief Technology Officer

Girish Ramachandran will take on the IT side of Universal Services in a newly created role.

Harris County has added Chief Technology Officer Girish Ramachandran to its roster, he announced on LinkedIn this week.

Ramachandran, who moved into the role after spending time in the private sector, will support day-to-day operations, including IT infrastructure, application development and information security.

It is a newly created leadership position in Universal Services, reporting to the executive director and CIO, Sindhu Menon.

Universal Services has 11 divisions that serve more than 17,000 full-time staff and 4.9 million residents.

Prior to this appointment, Ramachandran worked with the public sector at DXC Technology for a year and Accenture from April 2021 to January 2023.

He was CTO in Dallas’ Enterprise Technology Optimization and Transformation Division from 2019 to 2021, but his time in Dallas IT spanned more than 12 years.
