Harris County Outlines 5 Upcoming Tech Procurements

Five approval requests for consulting, telecommunications and a CRM are among items that were on the consent agenda, moved to February.

Harris County has multiple tech-related opportunities coming up, indicated by the latest Commissioners Court agenda.

The commissioners met Thursday, Jan. 23, after changing the meeting to a business court in which they discussed winter storm response, compensation and a few other items. The meeting lasted just more than an hour.

According to the agenda published last week, though, the following tech funding is on the horizon.

Request for proposals to be approved:
  • A constituent relationship management system for Precinct 4, which has about 1.2 million residents
  • A radio asset management and work order system for Universal Services (HCUS)
  • Digitization management consultant services for HCUS
  • Online auction services for tax-delinquent and execution real property relating to the county engineer’s department
  • Structured cabling, audio/visual installations and related work for the county
Renewals to be approved:
  • An exception from competitive bid requirements and a renewal option of $379,470 for a case management system from Corrections Software Solutions LP, relating to the Community Supervision and Corrections Department
  • A renewal option of $225,000 with Unbiased Consulting for case management solution consulting for the county attorney
Contract vehicles to be approved:
  • Approval for $964,336 in countywide eSignature solutions from Carahsoft Technology Corp. via a Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) cooperative contract
  • Approval of a $475,000 renewal for Gartner to consult on integrated justice systems via a DIR cooperative contract
The next scheduled Commissioners Court meeting is Feb. 6. The Harris County Purchasing Department procures through the Bonfire platform.
