Houston Airport System Seeking IT Consultancy

The system, which includes three airports, is taking information about vendors that will put it on track for upcoming projects.

The Houston Airport System (HAS), which operates under Houston’s annual budget, is looking for highly qualified vendors to assist with large-scale IT projects.

Request for qualifications (RFQ) No. DOC1273925612 outlines a need for work throughout the system, which includes George Bush Intercontinental Airport, William P. Hobby Airport and Ellington Airport. The system had more than 60 million passengers in 2023, according to its website.

HAS is planning multiple projects over the coming years and is looking for a consulting firm, possibly more than one, to advise, plan and provide various IT services.

These include:
  • Technology planning and studies
  • Application development, hosting and cloud services
  • Design services, construction administration
  • Program and project management
  • IT security
  • Augmented reality and generative artificial intelligence
The city will award one or more three-year contracts with two-year renewal options, and the anticipated start is March 2025.
