The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is hiring a chief information security officer to lead its cybersecurity program and oversee the protection of agency data, infrastructure and systems.

The CISO will manage the agency’s Information Security Office, guide strategic planning, and lead initiatives focused on preventing, detecting and responding to cybersecurity threats.

Responsibilities include supervising security operations, developing policies and training programs, coordinating incident response, and advising on risk mitigation and technical infrastructure.

Applicants must have at least six years of experience in cybersecurity, including three years in a supervisory or team lead role. A CISSP, CISM or equivalent certification is required. A bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information security or a related field is preferred.

This is a full-time exempt position based in Austin with an annual salary range of $133,799-$147,735. The posting will remain open until filled.

TDLR is in the process of assuming oversight of the Texas Lottery, which transferred to the agency after the Texas Lottery Commission was abolished during the 89th Legislature.
