As an account executive, Kelly told Industry Insider — Texas that he would focus on supporting customers in SLED organizations to find, understand and trust their data.
“As these organizations invest in digital transformation, whether online learning or automated workflows, more and more data becomes available, but deriving insights from that data is challenging,” Kelly said. “I help business leaders activate a true data culture and realize the full potential of their applications and data so that everyone in the organization can make data-informed decisions.”
As for Kelly’s specific responsibilities, he explained that he would address organizations’ unique data challenges and pinpoint solutions to meet their technical and procurement needs.
For example, one way he aims to achieve this is by working directly with public-sector clients across the state.
“I’m able to meet my clients where they are,” Kelly said. “This in-person connection enables my team to better understand the evolving data challenges and successes that our customers experience. Not just by helping overcome technical obstacles but also by the ability to travel to them, understand their pain points and deliver solutions to address them.”
Furthermore, he added one of his short-term goals is to meet with as many agencies as possible to learn about each organization’s unique challenges. In the long term, Kelly looks to build strong and reliable partnerships with the departments and agencies within the state’s SLED market while gaining a stronger grasp of what technologies they use.
Prior to working with Alation, Kelly was a senior account executive at MuleSoft from February 2022 to March 2023. Before that, he was a SLED enterprise account executive at Skydio from 2021-2022, a strategic account executive at Axon from 2016-2020 and a technology account executive at Oracle from 2014-2016.
