MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a cloud-based, off-the-shelf policy management system (PMS), preferably a product that has already had successful use in an academic health-care setting.

The center issued request for proposals No. AIS-BUS-01431 for a PMS this week, with a Feb. 27 deadline.

The center's requirements include:
  • Centralized content management system
  • Mobile and desktop interfaces that work in Windows or Mac environments
  • Robust search, ease of use, user customization
  • Flexible admin functions, workflow design, reporting functions, dashboard creation
  • PeopleSoft and/or Active Directory interoperability
The system must support the cancer center and be able to perform in compliance with local, state and federal health and human services rules, regulations and guidelines.

Staffing, development, training and support are also required.

In 2022, the designated comprehensive cancer center, part of the University of Texas System, saw more than 175,000 patients, ran 1,680 clinical trials and invested $1.1 billion in research. It employs about 23,000 people across the greater Houston area. Its total state appropriations for FY24 are $230.6 million while its operating budget is about $7 billion.

MD Anderson posts opportunities and bid documents on the Jaggaer platform (formerly SciQuest) and publishes the details at Texas SmartBuy under search No. 506.

Lisa Lopez is the point of contact for this request. The deadline for responses is 4 p.m. Feb. 27.
