Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has a Request for Bid (RFB) for a Hexagon Enterprise Asset Management Application (EAM) to expand its EAM program, which in part manages the airport’s IoT assets.

This is a multiyear contract to provide support, training and programming for the Hexagon EAM software, version 11.1 or higher, that is used at the airport, according to the scope of work. Services are to be provided by a Hexagon certified partner.

The contracted services will include:
  • Services on an as-needed basis for the contract’s duration.
  • Installation, customization and configuration.
  • Implementation, maintenance and modification of new and existing hardware.
  • Training.

Areas of expertise sought include:
  • Programmer/systems analyst.
  • Workflow processes.
  • Configuration/implementation specialist.
  • Hexagon EAM qualified trainers.

“All work will be performed under the supervision of DFW’s Energy, Transportation and Asset Management (ETAM) Enterprise Asset Management System Department’s EAMS Manager,” according to the scope of work. It will be coordinated with the IT Services Department staff “to ensure that software is configured correctly on the existing network platform. All tasks will be documented and made available to DFW.”

Bids are due electronically Aug. 1. Submissions are to be made via the airport’s Bonfire hub pages.

Additional technology opportunities

In June the airport announced that it was posting new documentation to assist those who are interested in becoming vendors. How to Do Business with DFW Airport is a webpage containing the Buying Plan for May to September. The Buying Plan lists upcoming opportunities for the remaining fiscal year.

“Consolidating contract opportunities in this Buying Plan provides suppliers in the business community time to learn, prepare and plan for upcoming opportunities,” Bruce D. Collins, vice president of procurement and materials management, said in a recent video presentation. “It allows businesses the time they need to develop partnerships to effectively participate as subcontractors and prime contractors.”

According to Page 5 of the planning document, the airport has the following “high-tech procurement” opportunities listed in the fourth quarter, September to December.

  • Firewall refresh and network security appliance support
  • Security information event management
  • Audio visual equipment and installation services
  • Prepaid parking solution
  • Learning management software
  • Emtelle fiber equipment and installation
