The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a mobile tracking application for the Texas Highway Patrol (THP) division.

The THP division uses multiple ways to track schedules and time for personnel in addition to the agency time management software.

This RFI seeks information for an application that is built for law enforcement and will manage time, certifications and assets as an enhancement to the agency’s software solution, according to the documentation. It should help track staffing needs, potential shortfalls and incorporate staffing budget information.

Requirements of a mobile app include:
  • Scheduling components such as overtime, training days and regular shifts
  • Visualization of various officer levels and ranks
  • Funding and budget visibility
  • Dashboards, reports and automation
  • Integration with various systems
  • Being customizable and configurable

RFI No. THP202306211327 is due Aug. 21. The RFI is intended to gather information from industry members directly, isn’t a procurement and is public information. Procurement isn’t guaranteed, but this information may become part of a planning process.
