The VoIP system will replace or upgrade the current one with a “white box solution” with a fixed price, according to the request for proposal (RFP). The VoIP solution should:
  • Meet the technical requirements listed
  • Include training by the vendor
  • Include documentation for end users and technical staff
  • Provide ongoing support

The RFP for network switches and wireless access points states its purpose “is to invite prospective vendors to supply the primary facility as well as possible satellite locations.” This proposal should:
  • Address 30 switches and 52 wireless access points
  • Address coverage and capacity
  • Include a site survey
  • Provide ongoing support and documentation

There are 20 education service centers in Texas, established as service organizations to school districts across the state. “Regional ESCs support local districts in attaining the missions, goals and objectives set forth by the Texas Education Agency,” according to the TEA website.

The Region 12 office is in Waco. It has an estimated IT budget of about $490,000 per year, and there is unspent COVID-19 funding remaining, according to Industry Navigator.

Instructions and the full statement of work are available in the RFP documents. Both proposals are due via email by 10:30 a.m. June 30.
