San Antonio’s Public Works Department has a new contract for video inspection of underground storm drainpipes.

AG3 Group won the $1.6 million per year contract, according to city documents, which was advertised in a February request for qualifications. The total value is up to $4.8 million across three years.

The Underground Storm Drain Video Inspection Program includes using CCTV and video to inspect, document and evaluate about 40 miles of pipes per year. There are 800 miles total in the city storm drainage system.

Inspections surface details about condition, size, materials and other data; mapping services are also included. The city will then use the information to “identify and prioritize” storm water infrastructure maintenance.

AG3 Group provides civil, construction and surveying services in Texas and Oklahoma.
