San Antonio Expects $89M for IT Budget

The city's budget outlines multiple capital tech projects.

San Antonio, the second-largest city in Texas with 1.43 million residents, has proposed a $3.7 billion budget in 2023-2024, a roughly 7 percent increase.

Information Technology Services will have $89 million. There is also $27 million allocated for capital projects.

Capital projects for improved IT include:
  • Cloud-based redesign for “core infrastructure locally within managed data centers”
  • Upgrade to the city financial system
  • Unspecified technology infrastructure and projects
  • Public safety facilities infrastructure
  • A citywide security and cyber project

San Antonio begins its new fiscal year on Oct. 1.
