SLED Veteran Robin Haley Elevated to Partner at OutriderZ Group

“Besides ... wanting to do something I feel makes a difference, what I enjoy most are the people. The people running our agencies and educational institutions truly care about what they do. They want to make a difference in the lives of citizens and students and are very committed to the services they provide,” she told Industry Insider — Texas.

Public-sector professional Robin Haley is now a managing partner at OutriderZ Group, an Austin-based consultancy.

Haley has been with the firm since October but moved into the full-time role in January. OutriderZ Group provides strategic, business and proposal development alongside various services targeted at helping vendors gain and maintain SLED business.

“My role is to help companies expand their presence in Texas to the benefit of the public-sector entities that are their customers,” she said via email. “In order to do this, I have to nurture close relationships with the leaders of these agencies, understanding their initiatives and priorities and relating those to the services and products the companies provide.”

“Another part of my role is educating those companies on how to do business in Texas, assisting with their market strategy and the basics of doing business in Texas. Overall, my role, and the role of OutriderZ ... is to build successful partnerships that support the visions and missions of Texas public-sector entities.”

Haley was senior district manager at Snowflake from July 2021 to October 2023 before joining OutriderZ, and said she has about three decades’ experience in the public sector. Her work before joining Snowflake included time at Deloitte, PwC and SAS.

This experience allowed her to build “long-lasting relationships with the leaders in the entities” and have a deep understanding of the “history and knowledge of the technology landscape of Texas.”

Haley said she enjoys working with agency and higher education leaders who make a difference in the lives of their various constituents.

She is now volunteer fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s upcoming Visionaries of the Year campaign.
