State Renewal Adds Three Years to Tyler Technologies NIC Contract

The contract with Tyler Technologies NIC Division is long-established and serves multiple entities.

The state has extended a contract for payment services with Plano-based Tyler Technologies NIC Division for three more years, one year after Tyler acquired NIC.

Tyler’s NIC Division has been a contractor in Texas since 2009 and provides payment processing and settlement services for 235 Texas.gov applications, enabling online payments and over-the-counter credit, debit and automated clearing house (ACH) payments for 306 government entities, according to a press release.

“The Department of Information Resources’ drive to modernize the interaction between government and Texans continues to benefit people and businesses across the state,” Patrick Wood, general manager of NIC Texas, said in the release. “To be able to participate in making the daily lives of Texans easier and more efficient is a win-win.”

As part of the agreement, Tyler will integrate its Data and Insights platform into the payment processing and settlement services, bringing advanced analytics and allowing clients to easily digest information and better understand customer transactions.

The company is part of the DIR-approved vendor list, which allows state agencies, county and local governments and public education entities to make purchases through a simplified process.

Tyler's technical solutions are aimed at public administration, courts, public safety, health and human services and K-12 education.
