Tarrant County Looks to Enhance Cyber Posture With New RFP

The state’s third-largest county by population is seeking a Microsoft-verified partner to contract for a managed extended detection and response solution.

Tarrant County is seeking a Microsoft-verified partner to contract for a Microsoft Managed Extended Detection and Response (XDR/MDR) solution to enhance its cybersecurity posture.

The solution will integrate with existing systems, provide 24/7 monitoring and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Minimum requirements include:
  • XDR with comprehensive threat detection, automated response and orchestration, enhanced visibility and unified data integration, integration with existing security tools, central dashboard and reporting, scalability and compliance
  • MDR with round-the-clock monitoring and threat hunting, expert-led incident investigations and response, attack life cycle tracking and visualization, security posture optimization, service-level agreements, support and continuous threat intelligence
Details of note:
  • Tarrant County operates with Microsoft G5 licensing
  • Tarrant County uses a “mix of on-premises and hyper-scaler computing platforms”
  • It uses some 70 data centers
  • A list of relevant products, devices and software configurations will be provided upon request
  • The vendor must be Microsoft-verified and illustrate successful past performance
Request for proposals (RFP) F2025072 outlines the requirements and scope of work for a one-year contract with two potential extensions. Questions are due at 5 p.m. Jan. 13. There is a pre-bid conference at 3 p.m. Jan. 14., and the submission deadline is 2 p.m. Feb. 20.
