Global tech firm McAfee is putting a regional headquarters in the newest office tower in Frisco.
The California-based security software firm is leasing 30,000 square feet in the high rise, according to planning documents filed with the state.
“We’re looking forward to partnering closely with the city of Frisco and Frisco Economic Development Corp. as we become one of Frisco’s newest corporate citizens,” McAfee’s Benni Bueckert said in a statement.
McAfee plans to create, staff and maintain up to 100 full-time jobs in Frisco, city officials say.
McAfee previously occupied a 170,000-square-foot business campus in Plano’s Legacy business park. The company at one time had almost 1,000 workers in the Plano complex.
Trellix, a $1.7 billion cybersecurity firm created from a merger of McAfee Enterprise and FireEye Security Holdings, also has 85,000 square feet of offices in Plano.
“What a win for Frisco,” Mayor Jeff Cheney said in a statement. “We are proud to have a global leader like McAfee regionally headquartered in Frisco.”
