Texas Public-Sector Sales Veteran Shifts Security Focus

Brad Booth has taken a role with Island, a secure enterprise browser firm, after almost three years at SentinelOne.

Veteran SLED sales professional Brad Booth recently took a role as territory sales manager for government and education at Dallas-based Island, where he will contribute to the national SLED go-to-market strategy.

Island is an enterprise browser that enables “organizations to protect users and data at the point where they interact with SaaS and internal web applications,” according to the company website. “While consumer browsers have become the de facto access point for the majority of business-critical applications, they lack the deep visibility and hyper-granular policy controls enterprises need” in a distributed workforce.

“I absolutely love working with the state, local government, K-12 and higher education customers because we are collectively on the front lines of improving the lives and personal outcomes of the constituents and students we serve,” Booth told Industry Insider — Texas via email.

His home base is greater Austin, and he is responsible for revenue in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas. He reports to John Kirkman, vice president of government, health care and education.

“My personal approach is to truly understand that what matters to my customers and partners is that what they need matters more than what I have,” Booth said. “The net result is a holistic understanding of their mission so I can better consult, connect or problem solve based on them. Over (roughly) 15 years of taking this approach, it has helped me build a network of problem solvers and change agents, and a common understanding of the collective needs of my market and people. Because of that, I have built strong trusted relationships that allow me access to truly solve problems and connect people where they need it most.”

Booth previously was a regional sales director for SentinelOne and started in Texas SLED while employed with McAfee.

He has two elementary-aged boys and can be found coaching youth baseball and volunteering at their school in Dripping Springs.
