The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts spent $10,552,826 on its five largest IT-related purchases during the second quarter of 2023.

The agency serves as the state’s chief tax collector, accountant, revenue estimator, treasurer and purchasing manager. It also “is responsible for writing the checks and keeping the books for the multibillion-dollar business of state government,” according to the comptroller’s website.

Regarding specific purchases, the Comptroller spent about $8.3 million on IT services, $1.1 million on computer software, $821,813 on computer equipment rentals and $324,856 on telecommunications.
