The department that oversees criminal justice in the state, covering a wide array of responsibilities from feeding, housing, educating and tracking people under its watch, spent the most tech money in an interagency spend in November.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) spent $5,130,451 on some 128 vendors that month. Here, with rounding, is what of that went to the top five tech spends, based on data from the Texas Comptroller’s (CPA) “Payment to Payee” visualization.

The periodic reports of spending on IT goods and services by agencies and departments in state government are compiled by Industry Insider — Texas as a way of highlighting procurements and trends.
