University System Continues Capital Projects With Student Success Center

The projected $85 million construction project will further master planning goals. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for Monday.

A pre-bid conference for a multimillion-dollar student success center to be built at the University of Texas at Dallas will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the facilities’ management training room and virtually via Teams meeting.

The conference will address questions about a request for qualifications from architectural/construction companies with deep knowledge of working with the University of Texas System to build Phase I of UT Dallas’ combination student success center and student union.

This bid is for the student success center, which is anticipated to occupy an estimated 170,000 gross square feet. The preliminary project cost is $85 million, according to the RFQ.

Spaces in the building, to be LEED-certified, will include:
  • A 400-seat lecture hall.
  • Multiple department offices including undergraduate and graduate offices.
  • Meeting, administrative and support space.
  • Testing and computing.
  • Technology-enhanced classrooms.
  • Electrical rooms and telecommunications/server rooms.

The deadline for submissions is 2 p.m. Aug. 12 to be made electronically. The point of contact is Brenda Smith on behalf of the university.
