Helen Mohrmann, listed as the current system CISO, has served the Information Security Office since 2016. Her LinkedIn profile says that the role includes assessing and developing services across member institutions and delivering quarterly reports on the “state of information security” to the Board of Regents.
The IS Office enables education, research and health care; protects critical information resources, systems and infrastructure; and promotes a culture of positive awareness, attitudes and employee behavior, according to the website.
The CISO will work in a complex, federated environment. Applicants should have experience in working in a highly regulated setting with varied oversight including education and health care.
The CISO will:
- Provide strategic direction across the system
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Build relationships with university and health institute CISOs and executives
- Advocate for information security and funding to ensure it
- Oversee and coordinate policy development, standards and metrics
- Assist local CISOs with program implementation and maintenance
