Water District Seeks On-Premises Cybersecurity Monitoring

The North Texas Municipal Water District seeks a fully on-premises solution to monitor its operational network at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant.

In a request for proposal (RFP) with an April 27 deadline, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks an on-premises vendor solution to monitor the Wylie Water Treatment Plant’s operational network for intrusion and vulnerabilities.

The special district serves more than 2 million people across 10 counties including Collin, Dallas, Kaufman and Hunt. The Wylie Water Treatment Plant is made up of four water treatment plants producing between 200 million and 650 million gallons per day.

The highly detailed RFP requires that vendors:

  • Work closely with NTMWD to develop an implementation plan.
  • Provide detailed testing and training plans.
  • Provide full-scope in-place warranty for at least 12 months.
  • Provide dedicated on-site service and round-the-clock customer service.
  • Meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.

No hybrid or software-as-a-service solutions will be considered.

The system should be scalable to allow future plants to be added, and the contract will be for five years with the right to renew.

Values aren’t stated. Proposals are due by 10 a.m. April 27; bid documents may be delivered, mailed or submitted through the NTMWD Bonfire Hub.
