Three Actions To Take Now to ensure cyber resiliency and protect their data and citizens effectively:
- It is critical that state agencies undergo periodic information security assessments – this ensures vulnerabilities are identified and addressed promptly, maintaining a robust defense against cyber threats.
- Modify the existing Information Security Assessment reporting requirements to eliminate redundancy. By streamlining these processes, agencies can focus on implementing necessary security measures which in turn will save time and enhance the clarity and effectiveness of the security protocols.
- Identify agencies reporting low cybersecurity maturity and provide targeted assistance to those that need it most to ensure an overall cybersecurity standard across all agencies and institutions and a uniform level of security preparedness—ultimately reducing the risk of breaches and enhancing data protection across the state.
