Twenty years ago, Kyle, Texas, was a small town of fewer than 10,000 residents. For many in the Austin region, it was known as little more than “the Dairy Queen and a stoplight.” Today, that same city is unrecognizable. With a population now surpassing 70,000 and projected to exceed 100,000 within five years, Kyle is the second-fastest growing city in the United States by percentage.
The view from City Hall, however, told a different story.
