Modernizing Licensing Systems With Technology
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has launched the Comprehensive Online Regulatory Environment (CORE), a new online licensing system designed to streamline the professional licensing process. By eliminating paper applications, CORE provides applicants with greater control over their materials and prevents submission errors, while simplifying the review process.
This initial launch supports applications for clinical psychologists, nail technicians, and music therapists, with plans to expand to over 300 license types and 1.2 million records over the next two years. CORE was developed in collaboration with Tyler Technologies, leveraging their State Regulatory Platform Suite to ensure adaptability to regulatory changes.
“Everyone wanting to earn a living should have modern tools to get licensed and start working as quickly as possible,” said IDFPR Secretary Mario Treto, Jr. “CORE demonstrates our commitment to improving processes and services for professionals statewide.”
Deanna Gronlie Cook, General Manager of Tyler Illinois, added, “Our configurable platform ensures a seamless licensing process, allowing users to adjust to new legislation or requirements with ease.”
