Here's a quick snapshot of recent bid opportunities Techwire is following:
1. California has pushed back the timeline about three months for one of the first two modular procurements associated with the agile development of the state's new child welfare system. Final proposals are now due May 12 for the intake module that was built as part the Child Welfare Services - New System (CWS-NS) project, the Office of Systems Integration (OSI) said, attributing the delay to an influx of vendors unfamiliar with government showing interest in the opportunity. The contract award is now scheduled for Aug. 5. The contract award announcement for the project's other module, the Legacy Application Programming Interface (API), remains on track to occur before the end of May. Read more about it here.
2. The California Department of Justice and Attorney General Kamala Harris are seeking consultant services to help redesign the OpenJustice website and extend transparency features within its data dashboard. OpenJustice originally was launched in September 2015. With the release April 20 of a new RFQ, a second iteration of the data portal seems in the making. RFQ submissions are due May 3. Read more about it here.
3. The California Public Utilities Commission is getting ready to launch a new enterprise e-filing project. In late March the CPUC issued separate Request for Offer invitations for project management services, an implementation vendor and Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V). The solicitations are open to firms qualified on the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) and IT Master Service Agreement (MSA) lists. Offers are due in late April and May, and the vendors will start work this summer. Read more about it here.
4. The California Department of Technology is releasing bid invitations seeking providers for cloud-based backup recovery services, e-signatures and satellite voice services. An RFP for digital signatures and e-signatures software likely will be released in June or July. A bid invitation seeking satellite voice communications through the CALNET 3 is planned, and another bid for cloud-based backup and recovery services will be released in May or June. The state also is refreshing CALNET 3 contracts for Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) Ethernet and Managed Internet Services. Read more about it here and here.
