Next week, the Assembly Committee on Utilities & Commerce will hold an information hearing on California’s efforts to bridge the digital divide in California, according to an announcement by Chairman Steven Bradford.
The hearing will focus on recent achievements and current challenges to increase broadband access in unserved areas of the state.
According to the announcement, witnesses will include representatives from the California Public Utilities Commission, California Emerging Technology Fund, California Technology Agency, AT&T, Verizon, The California Cable and Telecommunications Association, Los Angeles County Regional Broadband Consortia, Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles and LINC Housing Corporation.
The hearing will take place on Monday, March 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 437 of the State Capitol.
Assemblymember Bradford represents the 62nd District that includes areas surrounding the cities of El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood and Los Angeles, among others.
