The California Broadband Council will meet on Monday, August 12 from 1 pm to 3 pm in Sacramento. The meeting will be held in the Legislative Office Building at 1020 N Street, Room 100, across the street from the State Capitol. See the agenda here.
The Council was established in 2010 by Senate Bill 1462 legislation (Padilla, D -Pacoima) to find ways to increase broadband network deployment and eliminate the digital divide in California.
Members include:
- Michael R. Peevey, President of the CPUC, who serves as Chair of the Council;
- Senator Alex Padilla (D-20th S.D.), who serves as Vice Chair of the Council;
- Assembly Member Steven C. Bradford (D-62nd A.D.);
- Director Carlos Ramos, California Department of Technology
- Mark Ghilarducci, Secretary, California Emergency Management Agency
- Tom Torlakson, Superintendent of Public Instruction
- Fred Klass, Director, Department of General Services
- Brian P. Kelly, Secretary, California Transportation Agency
- Sunne Wright McPeak, President and CEO, California Emerging Technology Fund
