Velocity Venture Capital Launches Tech Campus in Folsom

Folsom-based Velocity Venture Capital on Thursday celebrated the launch of its Entrepreneurs Campus that will serve the northern California innovation community, providing local tech startups an opportunity to develop and refine their business models and compete for funding.

The campus, located at the original site of Folsom’s first elementary school dating back to 1912, will host Velocity Venture Capital’s ongoing Entrepreneurs Showcase that has mentored more than 70 companies including Snippet, a publishing app for writers and security software company Pondera, the announcement said.

“Today’s launch demonstrates our belief that this region is truly a hidden gem for investors and entrepreneurs alike,” said Jack Crawford, general partner at Velocity Venture Capital, in a statement.

Sponsors and partners of the Entrepreneurs Showcase and Campus include: National Venture Capital Association, Kauffman Fellows Program, Samsung, Dell, Oracle, Silicon Valley Bank, AT&T, Bank of America, Calinnovates, University of Pacific, Folsom Cordova Unified School District and FedCorp.
