Cloud adoption is a critical step for organizations embarking on their digital transformation journey. The recent healthcare crisis not only accelerated digital transformation efforts, but also a resulted in a rapid evolution of the threat landscape for organizations, primarily due to an increased attack surface and advanced sophistication of threat vectors.

Securing critical assets (including internal and customer data as well as critical infrastructure) continues to be one of the primary focus areas for security programs across organizations. Traditionally, this meant securing assets within an organization’s premises. However, with the proliferation of cloud services, this focus must be extended beyond the premises, all the way into the cloud environments.

Controlling and governing access to assets in the Cloud is a key tenet to securing them. Cloud Access Governance capabilities enable that by providing tools to discover, secure and govern access to assets (data and application in SaaS, and workloads in PaaS and IaaS deployment models), thereby helping organizations in extending their access controls beyond their “on-prem” environment.
