With one of the largest IT programs in state government, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has a technology budget of nearly $120 million and more than 600 staff members dedicated to keeping 138 systems and applications running.
Joe Panora, Agency CIO and Director of the department’s Enterprise Information Services Division, oversees a program that supports 128 correctional facilities across the state.   The department is currently working on several major projects including the Business Information System (BIS), Strategic Offender Management System, Unified Communications (voice/data/VC), Radio/Microwave Systems, Environmental Health and Safety Vaccination and Immunization Project, Parole Violation Disposition Tracking System and Volunteer Management System, among others.

On September 23rd, Panora and his executive team will spend 90 minutes discussing their strategic initiatives, projects and future goals.

California Department of Technology Chief Deputy Director Paul Benedetto will give opening remarks.

The event will include an audience Q&A session.
