Many state departments, agencies and commissions are facing a fast-approaching deadline to meet requirements for the Financial Information System for California project, better known as FI$Cal.
The massive business transformation project will change state functions in budgeting, accounting, procurement and cash management. FI$Cal will prepare state systems and staff to operate in an integrated financial management system.
It’s a big step ahead for the state. But the much-anticipated project’s deadlines and systems work could be a challenge for some state departments.
