Announcement: State CIO Carlos Ramos to Speak at ENS-Inc Vets Day Golf Tournament

Sponsored by Enterprise Networking Solutions, Inc.

State of California’s Chief Information Officer, Carlos Ramos, will be a featured speaker at Enterprise Networking Solutions (ENS-Inc) 3rd Annual "Giving Back to Veterans" Golf Tournament. Ramos was appointed to the top CIO spot in 2011 by Governor Jerry Brown and is also a member of the Governor’s Cabinet.

Prior to his appointment, he headed up his own consulting practice in which he served as a member of the Human Services IT Advisory Group, as an ERP advisor to the State Controller’s Office and the Department of Corrections, and as a senior fellow with the Center for Digital Government. Carlos Ramos has also served as Director of the Office of Systems Integration, Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services, CIO for Department of Social Services, and Director of the State’s Data Center – one of the largest public-sector data centers in the world.

While Carlos Ramos will be featured at lunch-time ceremonies and awards, CHP Commissioner Joseph Farrow will begin the day as Keynote Speaker following the Honor Guard procession. Commissioner Farrow has been recognized and endorsed for his innovative leadership approach in public administration. He was selected by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) as a recipient of the 2006 J. Stannard Baker Award. His prestigious leadership has also earned him selection as current Chair of IACP’s Highway Safety Committee and Chair of the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System.

A number of winners prizes and raffle prizes will be given away during lunchtime ceremonies including donations from: Mikunis, Embassy Suites, Diamond Oaks Golf, Sandra Dee’s Barbecue, Boudin Bakery, VMware, Carahsoft, Dell Software, and more. Gifts include a Chromebook, a Nike Fuelband, golf clubs, gift certificates, and more.

Also at lunch, we will hear from this year’s Patriots Honor Star Recipient Joshua Hotaling. Joshua suffered the traumatic amputations of both of his legs and severe hand injuries in an IED blast while serving in Sangin, Afghanistan, on May 13, 2011.

Joshua is representative of the many veterans that ENS-Inc seeks to benefit with its annual Giving Back to Veterans Golf Tournament that takes place at Lincoln Hills Golf Club on Veterans Day, November 11. Many leading IT vendors participate in the sponsorship of the tournament where public sector employees are invited to play for free.
