The annual IT Security Awareness Fair will be held on October 2, the California Technology Agency announced in a blog post yesterday.
The event will kick off California’s participation in the National Cyber Security Awareness Month campaign aimed at raising awareness about cyber security.
Among this year’s speakers will include Dr. Ron Ross, Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), who leads the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
Implementation Project and the Joint Task Force Transformation Initiative, a partnership of various federal entities including NIST and the Department of Defense.
Chief Information Security Officer Keith Tresh and Technology Agency Secretary Carlos Ramos are also expected to speak.
Sacramento-based Public Sector Partners is working with the agency for the second year in a row to host the daylong event that will feature workshops and breakout sessions.
